About the Position

Pine Creek Medical Center's Surgical Tech will assists physicians and nurses in various medical and technical procedures.  These functions must be in compliance with the philosophy of PCMC, standards of practice and regulations of governing agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Makes decisions concerning equipment and/or instrumentation sterilization.
  • Bio hazardous waste disposal.
  • Housekeeping duties.
  • Patient care and patient flow.
  • Assists surgeon in scrubbed cases.
  • Complies with PineCreekHospital practice standards regarding competent performance duties.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Uses medical equipment in a safe manner.
  • Helps to provide cost effective patient care.
  • Implements principles of medical and surgical asepsis.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Instrument Processing from decontamination to storage of sterile packages.
  • Accounts for sponges, needles, instruments, and other potential foreign bodies.
  • SupportsPineCreekHospital personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Provides physical safety for the patient.
  • Creates a safe environment in which surgery may take place.
  • Maintains a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA guidelines and infection control standards.
  • Pulls supplies for upcoming cases.
  • Demonstrates cooperative work attitude towards and with coworkers, employees, management, patients, visitors and physicians.

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Certificates and Licenses
    • Current BLS training (at date of hire) 
    • Surgical Technologist certifications
