About the Position

Pine Creek Medical Center iPine Creek Medical Center is searching for a Director of Pre-Op/PACU/ED that is experienced, patient-focused and accountable.

The Director is a working director responsible for assisting with decision-making, program planning, and implementation of clinical care delivery systems which promote safety and well-being of all patients.  Provides management and direction for the Preop, PACU and ED units.  Works collaboratively with physicians to ensure that quality and competent care is rendered in all phases of patient care within the units.  Works with the team to ensure that service patients are cared for at the highest level throughout the continuum.  Responsible for all customer satisfaction initiatives with areas of responsibility. Demonstrates sound financial knowledge and management.  Facilitates departmental organization and management to achieve optimal patient appropriate resource utilization. Builds and maintains strategic relationships. Builds and maintains high performing care delivery teams. Manages conflict and competing imperatives. Builds customer loyalty among physicians, employees and the community. Possesses the requisite level of technical and professional knowledge in Nursing of expertise including exceptional leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associates), currently licensed to practice in the state of Texas.  Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees preferred.
  • Minimum three years critical care experience required (e.g., ICU, CCU, PACU, ER). 
  • Three years Pre-Op/PACU supervising experience required, 5 years strongly preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS and PALS training (at date of hire).
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make frequent and constant judgments, leadership, and the ability to make decisions and solve problems immediately; occasionally in response to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills.
  • Ability to effectively manage, motivate and develop staff.
  • Presents oneself as a professional with proper attire, commitment to excellence, fairness, humility, integrity and passion for one’s job.
